NO. 1049 “2024년 전반기 사역을 준비하면서” “Preparing for Ministry in the First Half of 2024”

하나님께서는 각 사람을 있는 모습 그대로 사용 하십니다. 그래서 태어나면서 주시는 기질이 있는데, 나이가 먹어 갈수록 그 기질이 선명하게 드러나는 것을 볼 수 있습니다. 인생을 살아가면서 주님이 허락해 주시는 어떤 경험치가 더해 지면서 그 폭이 넒어 지기도 하지만, 원래 주신 DNA는 크게 변하지 않는 것 같습니다.

    정목사는 이제까지 살아보니 직관적일 때가 많았습니다. 하나님이 허락해 주신 기질입니다. 이것의 장점은 모험을 비교적 쉽게 한다는 것 입니다. 젊은 나이였던 30대초반에 아내와 18개월된 어린 자녀를 데리고 선교사로 헌신했던 것이나, 미국에 온지 4개월만에 늘푸른교회에 헌신한 점, 그리고 가정교회를 통한 영혼구원에 올인한 점, 10여년 전에 상황은 안되었지만 미래를 위해서 교회부지를 사야 한다고 했던일.. 등등 직관적인 기질이 믿음과 연합하여 일어난 일들 이었습니다. 그러나 단점도 있습니다. 이 모든 일을 진행함에 있어서 설명이 잘 안된다는 것입니다. 그러다 보니 직관보다는 계획성 있는 프로세스를 편하게 생각하는 분들에게는 무모해 보이기까지 합니다. 감사하게도 우리 교회는 정목사과 반대 기질의 사람들도 많습니다. 그래서 균형을 이루고 서로 배울수 있었던 세월이었습니다.

    그래서 설명이 안되지만 정목사의 직관은, “올해 뭔가 새로운 일들이 있어날 것”이라는 기대를 갖게 합니다. 그래서 연초부터 기도로 준비하면서 그동안 정목사가 해왔던 방식을 조금 뛰어넘는 시도를 해보고 있습니다. 1월중 다니엘 금식 기간이 그러했고, 이어서 진행하는 “큐티나눔”모임이 그러합니다. 전반기에만 다섯 기수를 계획해 보고 있는데, 함께하면 길을 만들수 있습니다.

    또 다른 하나는 우리교회가 주최하는 평신도세미나 입니다. 이번 평신도세미나도 뭔가 하나님의 계획이 있는것 같습니다. 지난 14년동안 정원이 다 채워졌던 경우는 첫번째 뿐인데, 이번엔 30명 정원이 모두 채워질 것 같습니다. 평신도세미나는 주최하는 교회가 정말 수지 맞는 일입니다. 섬기면서 하나님의 은혜 경험하고 간증하게 되는 놀라운 시간이 보장되기 때문입니다. 특별히 상황이 안되는데, 순종해 서 섬김을 헌신해 보면, 받는 은혜와 기쁨이 배가 될 것입니다.

    그리고 올해 부활주일은 3월31일입니다. 그래서 고난주간 특별새벽기도회를 계획하고 있습니다. 월~금요일까지 5일동안 진행됩니다. 그리고 금요일에는 새벽뿐 아니라 밤에도 모입니다. 예수께서 우릴 위해 십자가에 못박히신 성금요일이기 때문입니다. 이때는 목장모임을 대신해서 모든 목장식구들이 함께 참여 하시길 부탁드립니다.

    이렇게 크게 3가지 중요한 일정만 나눴지만, 주보 예배 순서란에 있는 “교회주요일정”과 “늘푸른소식”을 계속 눈여겨 보시기 바랍니다. 주님이 주실 은혜를 기대하며 열심히 순종해 보려합니다.

God uses each person just as they are. Therefore, the disposition given at birth remains with us, becoming more pronounced as we age. While the breadth of experiences permitted by God throughout life may expand, it seems that our inherent DNA remains largely unchanged.

     Throughout my life, I have often relied on intuition. This is a disposition permitted by God. Its advantage lies in facilitating adventures relatively easily. Whether it was sacrificing myself as a missionary with my wife and 18-month-old children in my early thirties, dedicating myself to Evergreen Church just four months after arriving in the United States, or wholeheartedly pursuing soul-saving through house churches, or insisting on buying church land for the future despite the unfavorable circumstances a decade ago… these were all events driven by intuitive disposition in alliance with faith. However, there are also disadvantages. One of them being the difficulty in explaining all these events clearly. Consequently, to those who prefer systematic planning over intuition, my actions might appear reckless. Fortunately, our church has many people with dispositions opposite to me, which has allowed for a balance and mutual learning over the years.

      Therefore, despite the lack of explanation, my intuition gives rise to the expectation that “new things will happen this year.” Consequently, since the beginning of the year, I have been praying and attempting to go beyond my previous methods. This was evident during the Daniel fasting period in January and is continuing with the “QT Sharing” gatherings. Planning to hold five sessions in the first half of the year, together we can pave the way.

     Another significant event is the Layperson Seminar hosted by our church. This upcoming seminar also seems to be part of God’s plan. While the capacity has been filled only once in the previous 14 years, this time it seems all 30 seats will be occupied. The Layperson Seminar is truly a fitting endeavor for the hosting church because it ensures an amazing time of serving, experiencing God’s grace, and giving testimony. Particularly when circumstances seem unfavorable, if we dedicate ourselves obediently, the grace and joy received will multiply.

    Furthermore, Easter Sunday falls on March 31st this year. Therefore, we are planning a special early morning prayer meeting throughout Holy Week. It will be held from Monday to Friday for five days, with an additional gathering on Friday night. This is because Friday is Good Friday, the day Jesus was crucified for us. At this time, instead of the house church gatherings, we ask all house churches to participate together.

These are just three major events highlighted, but please continue to pay attention to the “Church Major Events” and “Evergreen News” sections in the church bulletin. We anticipate God’s grace and strive to obey diligently.  (Pastor Jeung)
